Thread regarding Coca-Cola Co. layoffs

HQ to be hit hard!

Really bad news for those working in management. Coca-Cola will be laying off nearly 350 people from the Atlanta HQ.

The funny thing is, while 350 people will be shown the door, Cola will continue to hire people for other positions. Am I the only one who sees something seriously wrong with that?

Friend of mine works there. They told him his position had been eliminated but that he could apply for open positions. He applied for a position that was exactly what he had been doing for over a decade. But they turned him down because he didn't have a degree in that field. What?! After more than a decade he has more practical knowledge than any degree would provide. My take is that they just want to eliminate the higher paid positions and hire kids right out of college for pennies on the dollar.

Coke is laying off at headquarters and smaller internal divisions....major difference in severance though. I have a friend who has worked there for almost 20 years....got EIGHT WEEKS SEVERANCE.....all other divisions got 2 weeks for every year of service minimum. Told they work for TCCC for 20 years, then told they could be treated since different division. How can they treat a subset of people so differently??? They have scare tactics in place terrifying people to talk! Needs to be discussed and people treated fairly across the entire organization.

MK destroyed the soul of the business. James is merely chunking off the body parts. Needs to be bought and run by someone that can mine the tremendous value the business holds. Current Board and Leadership seem incapable to lead. Note the share price is nearly the same as in 1997.

Many companies are laying off and saying they're "hiring" as well.

It's called lying and corporations do it very well. Try applying for one of those jobs, as friends of mine have with other corporations. Here's what will happen.

The process will take forever, constant delays, extremely slow, and after wasting 3-6 months of your time will end with a "no thank you" to your services. This is all part of the big cover up, where companies are pretending all is well when in reality, things are getting really bad everywhere.
