Thread regarding Symantec Corp. layoffs

Creating a deficit in expertise

It never ceases to amaze me how Symantec is ready to lose it’s top talent or simply let go of their more experienced employees on their own. Talk about creating a serious deficit in expertise.

Management doesn’t care about new employees' lack of training or understanding of metrics. The only thing that matters is how much work you are able to do that you'll be ready to pick up the slack when a round of RIFs occurs.

Morale is low because people are getting worked to death until there is nothing left to squeeze out of them.

And we need to bear all of that while layoffs are a constant threat looming above our heads.

If you’re looking for a career here - don’t. It’s not worth the stress that you will go through.

A friend of mine quit from Symantec after she was mentally tortured over several years. The investigation will not get rid of people in the organization "who have little or no internet presence".

Today a friend of mine called from Symantec - it appears that Symantec Information Security if laying off 36 people, Go figure out, a security company has no one watching what is happening inside the company.
