Working for Black & Veatch was one of the worst experiences of my career. I had a project manager who was so hostile to me and my coworkers he made the office atmosphere unbearable. He would try to intimidate all who were in any way his subordinates, and a lot of times he came across as threatening.
In addition to that, the promotion structure is a joke. Instead of it being fair, it’s based on the good ol’ boy network. There is no way to advance your career, or if you really get lucky you might get ahead but it will be a long grueling process. Forget about feeling appreciated for the hard work you do or to be treated equally. Favoritism runs rampant .
