(Bloomberg) — Activist investors bought more shares of
Southwestern Energy Co. than any other company in the fourth
quarter and sold Encana Corp.
The investment firms added 13.7 million shares of
Southwestern Energy, boosting their total holding to a market
value of $98.1 million, according to 13F filings with the U.S.
Securities & Exchange Commission aggregated by Bloomberg Global
Data. The 33 filings for the quarter showed $112.1 billion in
stocks and convertible bonds, excluding options.
The activist funds cut their holdings of Encana by almost
100 percent to 13,665 shares and a market value of $182,154.
Market value changes of the holdings in the fourth quarter,
which includes changes in both shareholdings and stock prices
show the biggest increases in CVR Energy Inc. and Mondelez
International Inc. The biggest declines were from General
Electric Co. and Willis Towers Watson Plc, according to the 13F
filings.
