Thread regarding SAP layoffs

SAP NA Job Cuts 2018

SAP layoffs are all true, so - no rumors here - just facts.

The aftermath, in NA 40% of service sales...

Seems high earners who are older were targeted - #agediscrimination ???

Was told that the criteria for the layoffs would not be discussed...

Younger academy grads not effected and were protected - no surprises here.

Management thinks a 20 something has the gravitas to discuss digital transformation with a C level executive... Good luck with that. It never works.

Why cut development anywhere at SAP? SAP should be doubling down on development such that sales people are no longer needed, that is that the software solutions are compelling enough to sell themselves. Alas, the SAP CEO is a glad handing sales guy. Seriously, SAP needs less mushy inspiration and far more innovation. And this Utah startup!? What a waste of gunpowder. The last thing the world or SAP needs is a sentiment capture software tool, let alone one that cost 8 billion dollars. What SAP needs is to stick to its original knitting and build software that is capable of getting a handle on business ops. It has let that mission slide, having rested on its laurels in this area, but there’s so much more work to do in this area, and it appears that SAP has given up.

https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/10/02/sap_salesman_jury_award/

SAP America has been ordered to pay a former salesman $662,200 for screwing him out of commissions and then firing him when he complained.

Steven Serabian sued SAP in January 2016 after the company kept failing to pay him agreed compensation for his work between 2011 and 2013. Documents produced at the five-day trial showed Serabian was a star salesman, doubling his sales quota and receiving praise from his manager and well as top-ranking performance reviews.

It looks like bad and clueless people find each other. What a screwed up company with a toxic environment and no chance for success.

Sign of desperation with SalesForce kicking their butt.

I am tired of the corrupted clan based hiring by some of the Indian nationalities. Once they become managers they show their true values by hiring and favoring their own kind.

Seems a class action would be appropriate. The manner in which SAP has dehumanized its employees is in line with their current day to day management style. Bill and Jen are simply a mouthpiece of fake news while they knowingly endorse the mistreatment. There are kinder, gentler, ways of downsizing without terrorizing and gross negligence by their incompetent management team. Maybe they should start at the top as the salesforce was bringing in the business. This is about cya, protecting their own job for their personal financial benefit ( stock grants).

the reply above is beautiful. Calculating money saving in SALES by the salary of the salesman - this is so millennial

Of course older HIGHER PAID people get laid off first. They do layoffs to save money, not reduce headcount only
