Hey, remember your sensitivity training. We have to be understanding of the older generation. Remember, for them a normal reaction to getting laid off was going home and spending the days drinking, smoking and abusing their family. This was called having a pair back then, because you had to be really manly to behave that way.

Its amazing how many snowflakes there are out there now days. I remember a day when if you got laid off or fired you picked yourself up, dusted yourself off, and had a stiff drink. Then you went and got a new job. If all you can do is feel sorry for yourself then why would anyone want to hire you, grow a pair and move on.
It is crazy how many people at Devon have drank the kool aid for so long that their job (and pay check) is the only sense of validation they have left. If you hated it you should have quit long ago. Move to someplace nicer than Oklahoma City. Work with people you like. Have time for things beyond work. Don't let where you work and what you get paid define you. You only get one life.

When were you laid off or fired? Hopefully, this isn't someone who was let go in Feb 2016, if so, then there are mental issues. If not, then could this be the signal of upcoming layoffs? Fired or laid off is the question.
