To the poster of "The discount card seals the deal for me", here is how math actually works:
A $10 item, with a 70% markup gets you to a $17.00 shelf price
A $17.00 item with a 45% discount (17 x .45 = 7.65 discount) costs you $9.35, resulting in a loss for BP/CAB of $0.65 (sixty-five cents)

It is clear to me. BP/CAB just put the decision back on the Outfitters to make a choice between:

Leave early and get the extra package and the severance.

Wait for the layoff and just get the severance.
I am not saying this is all Sidney Outfitters but I believe the managements made it clear.
Just remember, it is now your choice to decide.

So was there a meeting or where is this coming from? Retirement Pkge or wait?
they will probably have the option to self purchase a Cobra medical plan, and the payout will be treated same as a severance package and unemployment payments will be delayed until the payout is exhausted as if earned weekly in the future. the way prior packages read, they were take it or leave it, leave it your out anyway and on your own.
For those that voluntarily leave, what happens with things like health insurance, unemployment?

Why not just lay everyone off and give the most to those who have the most years?
-Engineered to get the most buy in possible, and highest chance of people accepting it. It looks much better to have the largest amount of people possible people accept the severance rather then to have a few people accept a better severance package and greater layoffs.
Why make people decide with little information.
-They want people to read between the lines.

I see Old Corporate downtown is now empty with State of Nebraska dudes walking through it. When will the folks in the old Alco building be moving to finalize consolidation into the new West Corporate building?
Outfitters with contracts were not offered this deal. Whole departments have been decimated today.
