There is no more union. Final vote to decertify them is coming up. Did everyone at Charter get their bonus today? Covered those tolls and extras gas with plenty to spare. How are things going at Altice bonus wise?

But what you don’t understand is that none of that means anything to Altice. They offered you a vrp because they don’t want to keep paying you the amount you make. Eventually, you will be on the radar screen because they can get someone to do your job for less money.

I still work for Altice

I didn’t take the package

Do my work everyday, nobody bothers me,never had problems with my pay

Get my paycheck every 2 Friday

Guys I was guarantee a job with spectrum and I didn’t take it and make the 140,000 VRP package

In one year

You know we don’t know what tomorrow will bring with Altice or charter or any company

Right now I work for my money and get my paycheck take care of my family and hope for the best for everyone and their families

And to close I am as good as a tech can be and I know their multitude like me

LMFAO

Some critics have said that the only way to achieve its cost cutting goal is to decimate customer service. Goei said that couldn’t be further from the truth: “Why would we ever do that? Why would we ever make our customers unhappy that they would want to churn and go somewhere else? That’s not what we’re talking about. This is not about doing large cuts in the workforce.”

Yes I can say sour I have 31yrs here already and I can definitely tell you I make more $$ then you. I happen to know supervisors and managers there that are my friends. If it’s good there for you then you would forget about what goes on here. So your young wet behind the ears therory is wrong. Truth is everyone has to work and support families. That system is outdated a falling apart so with all that great defectors you should be able to repair it. Good luck

  • Feburary 2017 - 41 OSP techs in the Bronx

  • Feburary 2018 - 23 OSP techs in the Bronx (4 new rookies plus 3 vets returning from Hawthorne shop plus minus 2 techs working on ftth project)

  • 0 OSP techs in Stamford (Norwalk plant techs now responsible for Stamford's system)

  • used to have 4 OSP supervisors in CT (one for each shop) / now there's 1 OSP supervisor (responsible for all 4 shops)

  • the majority of the NJ OSP techs were personally recruited by their former boss, D Toth and swiftly left for Spectrum. (because of their personal ties to Toth, they all jumped right into plush $45/hr positions without even going through an interview) "brilliant"

"...This is not about doing large cuts in the workforce."

You keep forgetting 1800 employees are out of work due to charters/ Cablevision 2.0 that is why they could pay these salaries and weed out the scrubs profits are up they are not paying into the jib.

IBEW underestimated these guys, they figured they were dealing with time warner still. Unions need to wake up and change there mentality strikes will not work anymore unless you have control of all the employees in that particular area if not don’t do it, Charter got lucky that Altice only wants the cheapest labor to service the plant, It’s a new day fellas striking is not an option. That does not mean you should not have a union, the employees actually voted to strike they were just mistaken, the good thing is that this will not go away because of the franchise agreement.

It will come to a conclusion eventually, so the employees will get their money eventually. Remember you are the union you vote on what you want to fight for like medical benefits sick days etc, it’s always better to have a contract rather than being an at will employee.

I’m on this site because I have friends that are still at Altice and I am interested in keeping up with what they are going through. I’m far from sour. I’m off the sinking Altice ship. I don’t have to worry about when they’re going to find a way to replace me with some $15/hr know it all punk like you because I make too much money. You sound like you know nothing about what Cablevision was and what Altice did too a great company. You sound like a Altice noob that’s just parroting the company line because your too inexperienced to know any better. At the very least you sound like you’re jealous of those of us who managed to get out. So, it’s most likely you that is the lazy slacker, angry that you’re stuck on the Altice trainwreck with no way out.

Truth is we’ve lost good guys and bad guys. We’ve retained good guys and bad guys. But the real joke is a bunch of wet behind the ear service guys passing judgement on something they have no idea about. The difference between OSP and service is, an OSP tech has done your service job. We did it well enough to be promoted. The average service tech has zero perspective to judge what any maintenance tech is doing. Just do your job, if you don’t like it leave.

Such ignorance, stupidity, and immature bravado!! As long as it makes you feel better acting like you’re a SuperTech and anyone who left this bankrupt Ponzi scheme are lazy slackers. I hope it’s a comforting thought for you when you’re cost cutted out the Altice door. Us “slackers” will be working every day at CharterVision secure in our jobs, our pay, and our future.

Maitnance is picky with the new altice. Can't always swap something like an amp out and not worry about the customer. Better off just putting a lid on it and calling it a day. Is it right no but splicing in new equipment between working hours with minimal man power isn't necessarily the easiest thing to do. This stuff was typically done between 2-6 in the morning when you had adequate time to do it in case something goes wrong. Now if you do this and something happens during the day your lucky to get help and customers will be down. for those of you saying the skilled workers left I'm assuming your a service tech who has the least bit of a clue as to how the plant is powered and actually works.

All the top maintenance technicians are still working for Altice. Word has it that the defectors in training are being caught sleeping in their trucks while training. Been there a few months and still training? ?? Because they were the slackers who left. Have fun in traffic and paying tolls ✌️✌️
