Thread regarding CA Technologies (CA Inc.) layoffs

CA Technologies New York City Office Shut Down

CA is moving its global HQ from New York City to Stamford or Hartford, Connecticut in late 2018 or early 2019. The move is intended to make life more convenient for the CEO, CFO and CMO who all live in Connecticut and don't want to commute into New York City every day. Naturally, there will still need to have an office in New York City for sales and services staff, but this will be significantly scaled-back compared to the current office at 520 Madison Avenue. Moving the global HQ to Connecticut plus maintaining an albeit smaller Manhattan office together with the lease of the former global HQ in Islandia, NY ending in 2021 and the company's plans to expand more rapidly in Santa Clara by moving more core and back-office functions to there in addition to software engineering will lead to layoffs in New York to fund the additional expense of these plans

Islandia will shut down, obviously, but there will still be a New York presence, both in Madison and somewhere on Long Island
