GE Greenville paid the highest environmental fine in South Carolina history for site contamination. Two major chemicals polluting the Greenville site is Tetrachlorethylene (solvent known to cause cancer) and liquid fuel. The liquid fuel (diesel) exist as a major underground plume known to contaminate the water table underground. Tetrachlorethelene was dumped into the soil for many years. Many Greenville employees have died from cancer. GE doesn't want this connection known.

The fine alone was $1,000,000. GE has been pretending to cleanup for years. Actually just monitoring the chemicals.
