While we had planned to share an update on our Media Networks structure during Bob Live tomorrow, in light of recent media speculation we wanted to reach out today to clarify a few points.
First, I’m pleased to share with you that Sarah Levy has been promoted to COO of Viacom Media Networks, effective immediately.
Second, let me explain what that means. At a high level, we will be bringing all of our media networks’ shared services under one structure, reporting to Sarah – which means the responsibilities that Sarah has had for the past year will now extend to BET and Nick, too.
These support functions are the same areas of management responsibility that Sarah has had in her Global Entertainment Group role: Production Management and Operations, Multiplatform Product Development, Program Acquisitions, Research & Audience Science, and Content Distribution. In addition, she will continue to share responsibility for managing Viacom’s Finance, Business & Legal Affairs and Human Resources teams in support of our networks.
Sarah – and each of the brand Presidents – will continue to report to me.
A proven leader and a gifted operator, Sarah has played an important role in helping Viacom execute against our priorities since being appointed COO of GEG last year, and we’re thrilled to have her in this expanded role.
I will give you more color and context on this move and yesterday’s changes during Bob Live tomorrow. In the meantime, know this is another important step forward to streamlining our structure, breaking down our silos, and ensuring we’re as efficient and agile as we can be.
