Does anyone know if IPLE will be at risk of any cuts? We are subject matter experts for LP so it's hard to imagine they would trim our expertise but logic is not common with this company "leadership"
I actually got laid off last week. I have come to this site a few times for a couple of reasons. 1) It does help you emotionally to read others stories to make you realize that you are not alone and you are the a failure because the company decided to lay you off 2) And to understand how many other were affected. It really bothers me when I read that not layoff occurred last week.
In my exit meeting, I asked questions that HR was willing to share and I'm sorry to tell you that more are on the way. The best plan is to have a few months saved and to have the discussion with you husband / wife in advance of the layoff that there is a real possibility that you may be next.
My wife has been terrific and a lot of that has to do with being mentally prepared in advance. In may case I am seeking financial advice to understand which severance option is best for my situation and I am also going to seek legal advice.

do you think people that just got laid off have time to visit this site? they are spending time figuring out how to tell their kids why mommy or daddy is not going to work anymore, calculating their bills, and figuring out how long they can afford their home, their car, etc.
People come to this site because this is the real yammer. If you are so brave and don't need to be anonymous, go on! Go and post this $hit on yammer. We'll all take bets on here how long you will last.

I spent 45 minutes wasting my time reading all the recent posts on here and am convinced that everyone on here is either 1) a laid off employee talking s&$t trying to make themselves feel better by making everyone else worried, 2) people who don't actually work at this company trolling everyone "no layoffs", or 3) actual employees who are now freaking out based on 1 and 2. This is the problem with anonymity - most of the crap on here is simply not true. Some good points on here about lack of transparency from management, but otherwise blah.
