Thread regarding Viacom Inc. layoffs

Looking forward to knowing

Frankly, I'll be happy to see something take place this week. The whole uncertainty of the past several months has had me stressing out constantly. Finally knowing what's going to happen will be a relief, whichever way it goes for me.

We all know something is coming. I say bring it on and be done with it.

I agree. I just want them to do it already. The anxiety of not knowing if I have a job or not is so unsettling. I've had to put life plans on hold because I don't know if my income status will change or how long it will take me to find a new job. Even if I am spared, I am going to start looking for another position at a more stable company. Every year or so we go through this and it's not fair to the dedicated employees.

There is a lot of fat to be trimmed, but they seem to let go of good hard working and valuable employees and keep people that just take up space.

I am just curious if this round of layoffs will last the day or will bleed into Wednesday.

I've heard that for some positions, they will offer to keep you but make it almost impossible for you to stay. For instance, I've heard they will be moving some positions to Nashville.

Cannot wait to find out.

I just cannot stand it any more.

Thank you all for posting here, it's easier to know that I am not the only one concerned.

I really need this job, after all that I've went through - but I'll accept whatever happens, I just want all of this behind me.

Tomorrow will be a merciful welcome. I hope those affected receive the healthy severance packages they deserve and those that survive start readying their voluntary exit.

We're rearranging chairs on the Titanic at this point.

Agree, get it done already. The company is so "done" anyway. Cyma, Philippe, Dooley, etc. - ALL played a role in making us what we are today...IRRELEVANT, LOST, LATE TO THE PARTY and, the worst of all...missing the tech/mobile/digital boat! Sad.
