I need to go home everyday at 8:00pm but I have sups adding tc to my route at 6:45pm.

I know for a fact in NJ there are no labor laws as long as they pay you overtime for any hours over 40 they can make you work unless you drive a truck and have an Osha medical card then there is a max number of hours they can make you work per day.Call NJ State Labor yourself I did years ago.
There is no mandatory OT. You work until 8 and you have depot at 7:30. Grow a set and say no.
If u were union u can tell them to stick that last up there ash.

Pretty sure there was some paperwork we signed that stated we would work incidental over time and in my first interview with the company years ago the sup did let me know that there will be days I would have to work late and if I was fine with that of course I said yes because I wanted to be hired
