Yes confirming it was a large layoff - 5% of company and 20% of marketing. Marketing is moving to Atlanta by order of Michael Dell to save costs. Strategy is to amp stock price by cutting costs. I know dozens personally who were given a package in marketing. If you’re still there, and especially in marketing, please be job hunting. The next cuts are coming. Wish everyone well.

Yep, for all of you coming here from FB, this is not fake news, this was a real layoff - VMW is trying to downplay it but it was a large layoff (not as big as 2016, but still - some groups were hit pretty hard)
