Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

Whoa who’s the phoney around here?

Don’t be down? Don’t be negative? If it weren’t for the tax cut coming I’d be squeaking by again. You must have a lofty salary and or a double income of each six figures. Go troll elsewhere or better yet after six months of unemployment and no job prospects other than min wage. Come back then try paying for things with 80% less income on unemployment.

Speaking of pets! You must also be the bosses pet (by your logic) if you still have a job at State Street and haven’t been payed off yet. If you don’t work at State Street you need to get over it and move on, an “adult” crying like a baby for so long gets no sympathy.

@R5BLODo-4rof I agree with you about the management of State Street. Quoting from you post:

"The point I was making, is State Street used to have great mid to high level executives who helped

make State Street a great place to work." Isn't that what anyone wants when they go to work everyday. I have many former and current workers in my network who would agree with your statement. Many of my former peers are still thankful to have a position even though their workload has increased substantially. The biggest problem from what I hear is that much of the work that is being sent from India has to be edited/revised and isn't of good quality. With the tight deadlines no matter what department you work in it makes it necessary to work anywhere from 50 to 60 hours a week just to get your work prepared correctly. I do recall that I was working many additional hours at home since it was necessary. Just my take on it. Just an FYI I do have an MBA degree also so it doesn't matter where you graduated from or your many years of experience.

The point I was making, is State Street used to have great mid to high level executives who helped

make State Street a great place to work. But then the big push was cut cost by any means, which means layoffs and bringing in H1-B workers for you to train.

Suddenly your workload has doubled sometimes triple due to the lack of enough staff

People are eating lunch at their desk and trying to work at the same time just to try and keep

up with the workload. Suddenly your working 50 to 60 hours a week.

Quoting from your post: Everyone treated each other with mutal respect, yes RESPECT. Bosses fostered a workplace were people worked as a team.

Isn't that what anyone wants when they go to work for any organization ? As a long-time worker who is a former employee of State Street I always enjoyed working for State Street and did believe that I was treated with respect. Many companies don't have the slightest idea of how to treat their employees with respect. My current position makes me ill and my doctor doesn't understand why I have so many physical ailments. The environment in which you are working does have a profound effect on your overall health. Unfortunately, I can't find another position so am currently working for a small corporation where I dread/hate going to work everyday.

No doubt your either a H1-B visa worker aka scab or a favorite to one of the Bosses who protects you from layoffs

See us 20 to 35+ plus workers who been dumped since 2005, remember how great SST used to be.

Everyone treated each other with mutal respect, yes RESPECT. Bosses fostered a workplace were people worked as a team.

If State Street is as bad a the whiners on this board make it sounds, why don't you leave? Answer: Because it's not that bad. The maority of employees at SSB are 20 years in and have done nothing but process the same 2-3 tasks for that entire run.

Managers don't like you because you give them no reason to.
