Thread regarding Juniper Networks Inc. layoffs

IHS says Juniper is #1 with Service Providers (even before recreational m-r-j-a-a is legal in California).

Juniper is #1 with service providers according to a new report by IHS. What are you smoking?

What this really means is that IHS made a boatload of cash for a bogus survey and writing up a pay for play report for Juniper. Who believes this cräp? Get real.

Here are the highlights...

  • Technology innovation: Juniper had the highest operator score of 51 percent, when operators indicated their top 3 for technology innovation, followed by Cisco and Nokia.

  • Product reliability: Juniper scored 55 percent, followed by Cisco and Nokia.

  • Service and Support: Juniper scored 48 percent, followed by Cisco and Nokia.

  • Security: Juniper scored 51.4 percent, ahead of Cisco and Nokia.

  • Price-to-performance ratio: Juniper scored38 percent, garnering the No. 2 spot, just behind Huawei and ahead of Nokia and Cisco.

Digital marketing gone wrong!

This probably cost Juniper anywhere between $35K-$50K in all. On the bright side, at least the CMO didn’t blow up $5M on a 30 second super-bowl ad.

From twitter...

The SPs that ranked Juniper #1 collectively account for 33% of global telecom CapEx and 27% of revenue... @IHS4Tech SP survey identified @JuniperNetworks as the current market leader. example.com/2DnHmxU

So...

A third of the Telecom spenders thinks JNPR is great. TWO THIRDS thinks its not !

I always wondered about these surveys. The list of responders to such surveys are usually clouded in mystery. These types of reports would be much more credible if they listed the SPs who responded. Then again, these are custom surveys sent to a limited set of customers selected by the vendor, in this case picked by Juniper.
