Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

2018

Time for new beginnings and hopes for a better year ahead. Unsure how new ceo will be. I just doubt 7000 in 2 years time can be that stealthy. Hope I’m wrong. Hope there’s a new game plan. Hope the prognostications for 7000 layoffs are recalculated. Hope you all have abundance and prosperity in your lives and jobs This constant wave of layoffs has to end at some point. Right?????

They would deserve it if every employee below management resigned at the same time and and left them on their a** - wonder how the management would cope with the real daily grind .... I know that's never going to happen of course, but it would be great to watch. So many wonderful people gone already. A business can't survive on profit alone, people make the magic happen and keep the reputation alive.

I used to be happy go lucky and grateful I worked for the great State Stree Corp.

The company every High school and College Kid dreamed of getting hire by them.

Starting out in an entry level job and working my way up the job ladder .

I remember the 1st 10 years being happy, then I spent the last 14 years dreading the yearly layoffs until it finally got me 2 years ago.

What made it hard for me and my coworkers was being forced to train our replacements for 3 months.

Failure to properly train your replacement worker meant you did not get any severance package.

@R0mDDzD I agree that it is always better to remain optimistic but as a long-time employee of State Street I have experienced many layoffs in my department and other peers that I have known over the years. I believe that even many current employees expect to be laid off at some point in their career. It is always best to keep your resume updated and in touch with all of your network connections. It is also important to be on Linkedin and build your network so that if you do get laid off someone in your network may be able to hire you. Just my take on anyone in the work force not only State Street employees.
