Thread regarding Frontier Communications Corp. layoffs

Layoff happened Friday 12/1/17

Heard something like 5% were cut, IT was impacted.

Based on some of those that were selected for the RIF, and those who were not tapped, it is clear that those in power are more interested in politics and control than doing right by customers and shareholders.

Think back to the rolling disaster from the Verizon takeover, how poorly that went, how long customers were (and still are) seeing various impacts. The same dysfunctional lackeys who presided over that mess are in place today, with much the same results.

Brings into focus the fact that Frontier has no idea how to run a business, and personal / political machinations by those leaders who were in place at the transition and are still there now are one of the major problems. Their inability to manage has already resulted in a huge write down of the 10B in debt to acquire and destroy the Verizon properties, but that will only accelerate as they fail to retain the talent they need to keep the lights on, let alone improve the business. The Verizon acquisition will continue to hurt investors, shareholders, employees and customers.

I wasn't laid off, but as the layoff has eliminated some key players who were showing great results, and operating with ethics and class (unlike their Mgmt), this has made it clearer to me that I have no confidence in Frontier either as an employer or a viable business. There are some great people working there, but the whole company is too broken. Time to go work elsewhere.
