Guitar Center has so many things wrong that could be easily fixed, but nobody is bothering to do it.
For example, not enough demo cables. Using the same cables to demo various equipment is a horrible idea in general. It means we sometimes don't have enough cables to demo gear, or that our displays stay non-functional once unplugged. All could be solved with just a few more demo cables. But nope.
Or rigid company policies that don't allow for any violations, even if it would hurt nobody and make the customer happy. If I know a customer, seen them at the store half a dozen times, I know who they are, yet, if they forgot their I.D., I can't give them the package they ordered. I know them! But I'd get fired if I did that.
Or hiring people with no musical background of any kind. Why? It just leads to frustration all around. For the employee, the customer, and anybody else observing the process.
This is only a few examples, but every one shows how easy it would be to change them and make the workplace better for both us and the customers. And yet it stays the same.
