Michigan was not 250, closer to 100-150.
250 in Michigan will trigger WARN.
250 people laid off at Michigan Hub yesterday and 20 or more people laid off at NOLA hub.

About 80 layoffs in Norwalk, CT in Digital Technology, with the following age distribution, according to the Older Workers Benefit Protection Act Disclosure distributed to those who were laid off (as required by federal law under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act):
Age: Number of Layoffs
20s: 2
30s: 23
40s: 34
50s: 19
60s: 3
According to Nolo.com, the law requires employers to "follow certain safeguards -- when asking older employees to give up their right to sue the company. By signing a waiver—often called a release or covenant not to sue—an employee agrees not to take any legal action, such as an age discrimination lawsuit, against the employer. "
Severance pay and health insurance is less for those who won't sign.
Do you think people should waive that right?

Re Digital Innovation It appears they fired 23 in Norwalk to save 6 jobs in San Ramon. Michigan is un affected... for now.
Confirmed. I’m on the Norwalk DI team and they let us all go in one sh--ty group layoff meeting, what more proof do you want?
"Confirmed entire digital innovation team in Norwalk was just let go."
I know there won't be any proof, but can someone else confirm this is true? How about the Digital Innovation team in Michigan? I'm assuming Digital Innovation in San Ramon is safe
Notified in a group setting then handed envelopes with notice and severance details. Anywhere from 60-120 days notice then severance kicks in. about 80 DT (IT) in Norwalk impacted today
GE Power layoffs in Greenville today. What seems unusual is that the same weak leadership that got GE Power in to this mess, specifically on Russell Stoke's staff and Nancy Anderson's staff do not appear to be impacted yet and in some cases they got the promotions to their staffs. They've held Town Hall Meeting after Town Hall Meeting without articulating even a basic understanding of the problem as if they do not understand the Power Industry or the plan to become competitive again. It seems obvious that they think by consolidating middle managers, providing VIRP packages, some of whom are now going to compete against GE Power and reducing lower level people, that somehow they will be more competitive with the same crumbling, unsustainable and disjointed infrastructure they have patched together. Give them two year. GE Power could take down GE.
Confirmed entire digital innovation team in Norwalk was just let go.
Were they already informed, or is this is coming?
