Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Lame excuse about not giving bonuses

They can’t keep dangling the carrot every year, then offer some lame excuse about not giving bonuses. Morale cannot be lower, employees will not be motivated to work nights, weekends, holidays, etc., for nothing in return (as happens now). The place is a dump - employees treated like slaves, receive no training, certainly no “inventing” going on at HPE. You can take your “PointNext” and shove it. After 21 years with HP, then HPE I’ve had it! Would rather sell nails at Home Depot.

First of all, Home Depot or any other company would require competence and not tolerate constant underachieving, so you aren’t getting a job there. They have products people want and need.

Second, bonuses are for winners... it’s not a constitutional right, like the abolishment if slavery.

Third, look up slavery jack$$$. The reason you are still there and miserable is not because your master won’t let you leave but because you aren’t employable anywhere else.

HPE is a great lesson for college grads to keep your skills current.

There will be no bonus. The promised partial bonus for next year is probably just a retention bonus for those "400" leaders they mentioned during the AEM.

So, are HPE giving bonuses or not? Didn't see confirmation. Those staff in DXC who came from HPE ES are due a percentage of their annual bonus as part of the year they were employed by HPE.

Bonus is for Meg, executives, and VPs.

Do you know how much an useless VP in HPE is earning? 500-600K base salary with guaranteed bonuses and stock options. Adding up all the benefits, it cost HPE at least a million to keep a VP. Many VPs, especially in Marketing, are just like Henry Gomez, a PR person without any technical knowledge.

What do we have???

Megtonio mentioned that there will be pay raises. These means that Megtonio and the rest of the higher ups will continue to receive a boatload of stock options. It does not matter to these people at the top whether there is bonus or not, they all make a killing with stock options. Just like global warming, the company is near the tipping point or already reached it. The only way Megtonio could save this company is to bring back The HP Way and its old innovative self.

I'd like to agree that it can not get worse, but this has been going on since about 2003 or there about. I'm glad I'm out. My advice, understand all of your benefits and have a plan for the WFR. If under 50 strongly consider leaving, the economy is really great right now, you can achieve more than you think. Over 50, get a second career that you can do while you continue on. If your a remote worker, or not to visible to others, you can pull it off.

I don't really think Home Depot would really be that much fun. Take care of yourself first. Family second. Good Luck to All!
