Thread regarding Foot Locker Inc. layoffs

We need changes in Annual Review process

Am I the only one thinking that the Annual Review process is in desperate need of an overhaul?

As it is right now, it really doesn't matter how well we do. Even if we achieve an Exceptional overall, we can be and are downgraded a grade or two. It all depends on Foot Locker and whether it met its performance expectations.

To say that this can be de-motivational would be an understatement.

We need to see the review process revamped and best workers rewarded for their contributions, not penalized over everybody else's failings.

This year again many people have been downgraded in their review for 2017 without real explanation from their direct manager other then this was not their initial review. For 2018 I have asked for clear measurable tools to know how I could achieve Superior or Exceptional and I was told this would not be provided to me. I understood they like to keep it as undefined as possible so they can further increase the workload without providing any rewards or increases to their employees. However they are not stepping away from paying dividends! Not sure this is how a corporation can retain real talents and leaders, this seems more like a crash and burn approach!
