It's sad that over half of the company's employees now are contract workers. That shows how low Amgen is willing to go to appease shareholders.
Nothing against contract workers, mind you, but laying off people just to save on benefits and pay by hiring contract workers in their stead is really low.
This company had some of the best talent in the industry that was squandered and sent running directly to our competition thanks to this.
We need innovation to survive in this industry, we need to focus on science, not de-emphasize it at every step while prioritizing quarterly results.
