Hearing from vendors that a large number of Kansas City stores are being closed. Anybody hear anything?

What’s happening at the KC DC store? Heard about a big change coming. Any truth to Salina taking over the KC market?
More store consolidations are imminent as AAP returns to a retail/DIY only business model. Commercial is a joke and leadership is poor. KC group needs to see McWorthless to the door.
Lawrence
Heard Manhattan CQ is back on the consolidation list. Any others?
The sales blitz by factory motor parts last week has killed commercial at my store. Anyone know how their credit card promo works? One of my customers said he is getting a VISA card from them that gets credit loaded on it based on what they spend.
Why would anyone voluntarily stay with this company at the rate they churn through people? The constant threat of being terminated is surely impacting sales.
CAM count is being reduced too.
More to come on the next McPucker conference call. CAMs make sure your Salesforce reporting is current.
Not much left to target. FMP has already taken the good customers and employees.
It's Factory Motor Parts. Targeting commercial.
Heard there’s a sales blitz going on in the KC market this week targeting us. Anyone know who it is yet?
Better be looking. McBoBo wants you gone unless you were recently hired.
Here in purchasing, we have cut back all POs for the first phase DC’s from suppliers. Overstock will be sent from other DCs as part of the overall sell through process.
Supply chain department notified today about DC realignments and those being shut down (All CQ) inventory reduction starting soon.
typical of this company. Employees always come last
Heard th CQ Shawnee DC is being consolidated into Salina. Anyone know when? Thanks.
H/R says turnover is now over 58%. Why is this not being addressed? You can't just keep churning out GM and CAM classes and hope for the best. Someone needs to study a company with low turnover and pick up some of the best practices. The friend of Greco that he brought over from PepsiCo doesn't have a clue.
Are more key people leaving in the KC group? I was told that some top performers in the KC group are going to the competition and one is the cam for my store. With turnover approaching 60% annually, can it get any worse? Where is the leadership in regards to retention effort?
Heard McBoBo say more in P4.
More than KC stores will be shuttered or consolidated. With such a lack of direction, focus, and industry leading turnover it’s surprising more have not be shut down already.
Typical overpaid cams. AAP has no idea what a REAL salesperson looks like. The ones they had left long ago. Stick with retail customers. Dumb vs dumber seems to work better.
Agreed. New program is much better in dollars.
Financially, the new program for vehicle expenses is much better than the old program with a company supplied vehicle. Can’t complain here.
That was supposed to be confidential. Cats out now.
Don’t forget the DMs get $400/Mo for vehicle expenses in addition to the fuel card.
DM base pay varies from $40-90K depending on the market. Some of the veteran DMs are getting the shaft. I work in payroll and see it every day. New DMs being paid more than the experienced guys. It’s not right.
Heard something about that while at DM training. No specifics other than the program was going to be more performance bonus based. Was surprised to hear from other DM's the disparity in base pay. Taking a wait and see attitude to see if I made a mistake in my career path.
What’s with the new DM program? Heard KC is the pilot.
You think Mr JR (aka Mr Pucker) would file a complaint?
What’s the scoop on the harassment complaint against McDufus?
Perfect! Those two deserve each other. I wonder what they did together for Valentines Day? Chocolates? Exchanged SpeedPerks?
McBobo likes the Rucker pucker... they need to leave as a matched set. 💋
Agreed. Since those two showed up sales keep dropping and turnover increasing. Both should be fired. New management would re-energize the whole group.
Biggest problem in the KC region are those two. Weakest leadership ever.
And Rucker too. What a K A.
Regions are once again be re-structured. Appears to be starting in the Midwest. Maybe McCollum will get axed. One can only hope.
This has been common in other parts of the country. Super Hubs usually service a 6-8 mile radius primarily for commercial. Most stores remain for retail but they pull all delivery vehicles, drivers, and the CPP to save money. If a store cannot survive on retail alone, it will be shut down within 6 months.
Heard on a conference call that the hub store in Omaha that was Carquest is going to replace multiple store locations. Nothing to be offered to those displaced unless they want to be considered for re-hire as a new PT employee.
Heard Nebraska and some Iowa stores were going to be shuttered. Anybody know when????
Heard the same for the Denver group. Bye bye cq
