Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Layoffs in exchange for bonuses

The layoffs will ensure that the directors and VPs meet their budgetary targets with military precision, and that they therefore get awarded their bonuses. Our CEO has given them big incentives to get the job done and some of them will no doubt make off very well financially.

Not sure how ENB’s corporate culture will fare, but the RDO has probably calculated how much of a hit the culture can take at this point and still remain functional. What fun the RDO must be having! I wonder what those employees can look forward to once they have completed their job. Maybe a taste of their own medicine?

This completely unnecessary state of affairs sickens me. Where was the voice of reason when the good ole boys decided to buy Spectra? Asleep at the switch, I guess.

I wonder if there is infighting within the ELT. Surely they can’t all have agreed with the steps that have been taken to get us into the mess we currently find ourselves. Surely at least one of them could see the writing on the wall regarding the Spectra acquisition. Then again, maybe their idea about short term pain being worth long term gain is right. Maybe. But it sure doesn’t feel right now.

I worry about the competence of the board and ELT. They have limited experience in large acquisitions, have taken on more than we can comfortably manage and are not getting sound advice. I am faced with fallout from mismanagement every day.

Incompetence abounds at this point because it’s cheaper in the short run.

The sadest part of this current state of affairs is that ENB used to be such a good company. That’s the only reason I still care. But I find myself caring less and less every day and that is sad too.

Will there be a day when I don’t care at all? Will there be a day when no one cares?

To the peopl whole are saying if you dont like it then leave. Those people who are writing here are the ones that care about the company and they are afraid to voice their thoughts to their people leaders. People like you who dont really care about the company dont seem to be bothered seeing the once a good company go down this way because employees like you actually thrive in this culture by doing no work and collecting pay.

If you don't like it, leave.....it's not the Army. I can assure that other O&G companies pay better and aren't as dysfunctional!

Everything is about meeting the cost savings targets. Fear is palpable.
