Thread regarding DST Systems layoffs

Have you no shame?

Here's an idea, let's take salaried employees, downgrade their job titles to the lowest rung, make them hourly and rob them of what they have rightfully earned all these years. Where is the loyalty?

If the plan is to make employees WANT to leave, it's working.

When I speak of this company that I have dedicated many years to, and remember working in the trenches, so to speak; with my fellow associates, it just seems downright cruel.

The sad cold hard truth is, it isn't personal. It ain't about you, it ain't about me. It's about the corporate bottom line. As a shareholder, I take issue with the way in which legacy employees are being routinely discarded and dismissed with nary an acknowledgement of their contribution to this corporation.

"Do the right thing." Seriously?

This is morally reprehensible.

To those who get swept under the carpet. You are not alone.

And now we know the rest of the story. Whole exec staff are just evil. What a s&<tty way to treat staff and Kansas city. Just sick.

They may be fools...but they just became much richer fools....not only via their stock ownership in DST, but the buyout gives them all significant payouts.

It's important to remember that DST has many locations around the world in different businesses. What might affect one location doesn't necessarily apply to others. The headquarters is in Kansas City, but most of the hiring of technical staff is outside the US. So, when technical staff in Quincy, Mass were laid off, it wasn't surprising, as DST had been forcing lots of experience and knowledge out the door in the US since 2010. It seems as if management believes all that's required for technical associates is the ability to click a mouse. They wouldn't hire a 22-year old with an MBA to an upper management position, would they? Why years of business knowledge and experience aren't valued in technical and analytical positions is beyond me, and it's DST pays a very high price for the business decision of pushing that experience out the door.

Agreed on Beth. And good luck staffing the place with India and having a product that's worth a s@#t. I'm sure those new interns are going to love working overnight for the rest of their careers. Go with lowest bidder wages, get lowest bidder results. Still, I think the biggest failure is the new CIO. She hasn't a clue.

The whole place went down hill fast after Hooley came on board. "Growth no matter the cost". It's impossible to take pride in working there. Here's to the fall of what was once a great place to work. I just hope that the college recruits are smart enough to stay away from this toxic place.
