They will wait for 4 weeks on bench and will lay you off without any warning. They do not care what good you have worked in past. It's good if you are starting as freasher, otherwise I will suggest you look for yourself.

@1ojtf - on bridging the gap - just quote family reasons, tell them that you've chosen to stay outside of the labor pool due to family issues which are resolved now and you can go back to work.
I am at Manager level. Counting my days with Accenture, max by 20-Feb i need to leave the company as result of recent performance outcome.
Still hunting for a new job, any suggestion on how to tackle the recruitment guys on the possible gap between now and till get a job (max 1 month i should find something)
It becomes so difficult to deal with this situation at this age and kind of dynamics we are facing with IT companies.
11 years with the firm, I was on the bench longer than 2 months at least five times... Just saying...
