Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

AM receives energy person of the year award?

Seriously? The award must be for unethical, short sighted, selfish thugs. Clearly some misinformation out there about what’s going on at ENB.

Hey Complaining kings and queens, stop bit...ing. if you guys have the balls, get enough people to on strike and don't get back to work until the entire ELT is fired. If you don't have the unity or the guts, shut the F up and go back to your shi$ job. They may not fire Al or his monkeys bc of the strike but the stock will take a big enough hit when safety people walk out bc then ENB is just one leak away from bankrupt.

Al has turned Enbridge into a company that no longer treats its employees with dignity. For that reason, I will never consider him to be worthy of any award, let alone Energy Person of the Year.

7 Suggested survival guide in these trying times:

  1. Delete right away any emails from your people leader or any one that contains message from the top. It won’t make any difference even if you read them or not coz there is zero job security in this company.

  2. Ignore your “gossiper” officemate coz it will not do you any good to listen to them especially if they are just spreading gossip about people they don’t like or comparing their hourly rates or pay. Most likely it will just disappoint you to know that someone who just process an invoice makes $100 an hour.

  3. Give a big smile to your people leader (regardless if one is incompetent or not) everytime you see them especially those who are on higher position so they think you are very happy to be with the company.

  4. Give thanks every morning when you wake up coz you have a job to go to and think that it is a vehicle for you only to make money so you can enjoy life with family and friends. The job is not your life.

  5. If you are affected by rate cuts or rollback, try adjusting some aspects of your financial life coz your ELT is not gonna pay your bills for you.

  6. Accept the fact that in every company, there are ordinary workers like us and those who manage it. Regardless of whether they are competent to manage it properly or manage to destroy it shouldn’t stress you out coz realistically you can’t do anything about it anyway.

  7. Accept the fact that the cost savings initiative will continue regardless if you continue the b--ching or bickering around. Don’t believe if they say that all what’s happening is not only for cost savings. That is BS, everything they do is to save on costs.

And if you really hate being with this company, you might want to try keeping your resume updated and start looking for work somewhere else. Besides, whether you die or left the company they are just gonna replace you. Don’t think that your hypocrite people leader will sway you to stay or will even think about you when you are gone.

Let's be strong and embrace our ELT. They are hard working good folks . We will give them a taste of their own medicine by responding with hard work and positive attitudes. E = what you make of it

That is the best, and only, solution. Exercise your power to view the situation in a positive light.

If you are an employee, you should personally try to buck the trend by ignoring the tone that leadership has set and by focusing only on the many things that remain that are positive. Take personal responsibility for creating a good culture for everyone, even when you are treated badly. Employees outnumber ELT and VPs and can make the culture better for everyone. Ignore tone from the top.

Very sad. ELT and the other leaders should think about treating employees with some respect. They have created an unbearable working environment. We can’t even be happy for our CEO when he wins an award, and are ashamed of our company. I wish things could improve.

I think it is well deserved. The ELT for all the flack they take, have continued to lead us into the future and I am optimistic about the great company I know we can become once the negativity is weeded out

Agree. The ELT undoubtedly knows a thing or two about accounting and cost cutting, if nothing else, and those are skills we desperately need now for survival.

The Board shouldn’t fire Al and the ELT just because they are dishonest jerks who don’t care about people or the environment!!!! They are just doing their JOBS in the way that investors expect. Anyone else would be just as bad and would have less experience doing it.

Probably the best award for him as he won’t get any humanitarian or environmental awards. He hates people and the environment. Now would be a good time for the board to cut Enbridge’s losses and fire him along with the rest of the ELT. Give them whatever awards they need to boost their egos then get them out.

Maybe there is an award for CEOs who have destroyed two great companies and withheld safety information from the public. Give him that. This man is dangerous.
