It seems that depending on your luck, you can either end up with an amazing management team when you start working at Genetech or you can walk into an already established bad situation with managers who are determined to micro-manage every move you make, down to the simplest task.
Which is really sad, because it's so easy to see ways in which things could be done in more efficient ways, but you are not allowed to change any of the already established routines. Not really sure why some management teams are allowed to work like this, especially considering that other management teams are more than open to suggestions and new ideas.
This is really mind boggling and points to some issues with our upper management. It's on them to make sure their teams work in consistent manner. Currently it seems like we have two different companies trying to work as one in completely opposite ways. Not sure that's working out for us.
