Srx product line is refreshed and one should not be surprised if we see continuous growth through out 2018.

Juniper new problem is Revenue growth in routing switching segment where resources are over populated , security ( lean organization) headache is thing of past.

Buy the market share, kill the product. Bangalore engineering is third world.

Be careful there, it's a one big family affair all the way to the top.

Ah the stench of nepotism at SRX has been unbearable for a very long time; something my friend reminded with this old adage: It's not what you know, its who you know. Wonder what the devilish dwellers will do when they are the only ones in the swamp? Yeah, I know what they will do - turn on each other.

From my perch, one contradiction to these facts is - The messiah savior is not the one who orchestrated... he was mislead by the DEvil and his disciples to turn on everyone the messiah depended on for his own survival !

As for the great messiah, he has a begging bowl in his hand and is taking handouts from disciples or anyone who cares to give..haha..LMAO

With that kind of engineering leadership, we might get CEO change first as juniper is not going to survive in current form by next year :-)

@5aln ...that critter aint spinless or crazy; he's one scheming s*ob. Incredible how him and his boys palmed off the SRX disaster and went on to glory. Gotta admire the hustle. Must be laughing their bee-hinds off in private.

The new products were results of some very dedicated and smart engineers who tirelessly slogged in face of extreme management disasters, and not the crazy spineless VP who did everything in his power to sabotage them and build his and his buddies carrers. He got right into feeding frenzy as soon as some good was done.

All of those who got the ship out of certain dissaster were forced out by the great VP so he could let his gang feast on them.

The curgent kings are the same types of incompetents, they have to their credit the worst product ever built in Juniper history...branch SRX. They have never done any real development in their carriers. The only fig leaf they hold is the new products are getting some traction, which they did't make. But any further gain is going to be extremely limited.

Any one with half brain could see this and has areday left, unless one is part of the mafia that rules this place now.

Some managers are busy protecting thier turf and obstructing any evolution for a very long time. They are very much heard and supported by the past and current junta as they are themselves clueless and overwhelmed.

It's a sad story of successive leaders using it as their personal piggybank and to launch carrers of their people. I'm convinced this is on its final legs.

Knowledgeble can see the game theory at work, leading to destruction of common good with each player making selfish choices for them selves....

Very true. I am still surprised that guy is heading juniper who is responsible for bringing quality of whole srx productline. His connections has helped him. That again proves friend and family culture of juniper as performence and accountability does not matter in any decision making.

Juniper is a routing company ,they destroyed netscreen after acquisition. The routing guy who was made head of engineering of creating branch srx 10 years back which was one of the crappy product ever made is now the head of entire juniper product development and he along with his cronies are dragging entire juniper down.

He is reaping benefits of all the hard work done by previous management in refreshing the srx portfolio but whatever he has done (read nothing ) will start showing up in 1 year time.

Bottom line is juniper is and will be a fast packet moving company , security is not in its dna because they are trying to run security by routing guys and that frame of mind.

Leapfrog with performance won't last long... Juniper's long term strategy is Incorporating the security VNF, or vSRX in the vCPE/uCPE. Take a look here...

P.S: This should make the PAN trolls go away. SRX BU will not be sold.

No one will buy SRX / Security BU, as it is today, unless it is pennies on the dollar. However, with new products that leapfrog Checkpoint, PAN, and others in terms of performance, there is a good chance the SRX product line will revitalize the security BU again. It may not have enough clout to save the company though, just like the previous attempts to save face with NSX and Contrail.

It didn't take long for the gurus from RBU to run netscreen down into the ground. Now the SRX team is being run down into the ground, just as the Routing and the Switching business units. Contrail was never any good, so it is already in the ground. Bottom line is that there is no place but up, for all of Juniper to go, unless of course they cut their losses and shut the whole sh!thole down.

Only a fool will buy SRX. Whole SRX team is useless at this point. They may be better off with laying off everybody and off-shoring everything to some consulting company. They may do better job. They have big teams doing nothing. But creating more bugs. Work which can be done by 1-2 people has more than 10 people. Principle engineers and DEs are just waiting for package. Nobody is motivated to do anything. So I think answer is no.

Netscreen had 16% market share when juniper acquired it. some smart people from routing innovated SRX and killed netscreen. All netscreen guys are already left and laughing at juniper security....

People in security pre-sales have been laid off in October because "there is no head count any more".

Anyway, who is going to buy a SECURITY business based on JUNOS?!! Why would they? What about support contract on JUNOS which is JUniper copyrighted?? No one will buy it. At the worst they will bite the bullet, scrap it as a product as Cisco has done to a few of their acquisitions and fire the BU.

Not just the SRX... In desperate times, Everything is for sale.

Now the big question is if the board is smart enough to roll the C-Suite over.
