It sounds like a lot of people are unhappy in their jobs at Donnie Darko. I have a solution that’s worked wonders for me over the last few years, and it could work for you too. Just activate your imagination and pretend you’re doing something that’s either exciting, important, or fulfilling. For example, today I cured cancer tomorrow I’m going to invent a way to send humans to Neptune and Friday I’m going swashbuckling on the high seas. Another secret to my success at this failing farce of a company is never exceeding a 7 hour day with an hour and a half lunch in between.

I never understood the incompetence of the adviser I worked with at APC as I was technically more knowledgeable than he was, yet this person had more seniority than I did. It's obvious an APC adviser does not need technical aptitude to perform their role as "Adviser".
I pretend I'm an advisor who is technically competent. And people love me.
