Anybody hear anything about the second rumored layoff for the year. We are trying to decide if the family can go away on vacation or if we should just hold on tight to our money in case of surprise layoffs.

This report says 97 people will be affected on 12/4/2017 so the layoff will occur next week in Santa Clara.

Hugh layoff in 2018. Rumor has it that Parters we’re briefed about two weeks ago about a huge layoff coming next year. The question is when? Q1, Q2... who knows - but I s coming and it’s coming to be huge. Again “rumors.”
There are more layoffs to come be end of Q4. Stay tuned.

Don't let the fear of unknown stop you from enjoying your family. BUT update your resume so it is current, know the market, refresh you network and be prepared.
If the rumor is out there it has credibility. The advise I was given when I was let go in 2015 is everyone is on the list. It would be naive to think otherwise.
If you are let go in a restructuring and they give you a package you will essentially be paid for service.
