During a visit with my store's QMT, he said that all stores that weren't announced to close in November, will be announced to close in February.

I've worked a store closing sale, and talked to our liquidator during the liquidation. He said that for closings due to things like bankruptcy, where there isn't much advanced notice, they'll only get a couple days notice to travel. He said it was case with Frank's Nursery and Border's... They announced they were going out of business, and liquidation started within a couple days.
For store closings, like Kmart/Sears, where they are planned a couple weeks-months in advance, they'll get a notification to be "ready to go" within a certain timeframe. For example, when our store closed in October, he already had a 'ready to go' warning for November. They don't know the specific store they'll be traveling to a few days beforehand, but they know that they'll be traveling within a certain timeframe.
Seems like an interesting life. The guy was younger, and traveled with his dog. Inbetween assignments, he lives with his mom so he don't have to pay rent in an apartment he's not using.
As I predicted, Sears will cannibalize Kmart to keep themselves afloat for a little longer. Hope you guys get your resumes ready.

Liquidators get about three days notice.
Well, guess that is it then isn't it? I mean, not surprised, they want to keep it hush hush until at least after the holidays.
That's what the QMT said... Someone in his family works one of the liquidator companies Kmart uses to close the stores, and they were given some kind of advanced warnings to plan for a Kmart liquidation in February. My manager is very concerned
Are you saying ALL Kmarts are closing in February?
