Thread regarding General Dynamics Corp. layoffs

Hard work is not appreciated

It's really disheartening how little General Dynamics management appreciates hard work. This is especially evident when an opportunity to move up appears.

Instead of the employees who know how to do their job and work hard day in, day out, the ones who get promoted are those who have friends in the management. And this is when they don't hire from the outside.

As if that wasn't enough, they couldn't care less about our safety (and everybody knows how dangerous the conditions we work in can get.) But they are more than happy to point fingers at everybody but themselves when something happens.

Truly not a way to treat your loyal employees.

Of course why promote someone that does there job really really good, I understand that, But that person might not go up the ladder, but they should be paid what they are worth to the company.

As a EX_manager I didn't promote some technical people, because they were so good at what they did. But I did try to take care of them with raises and perks every chance I had.

Some people are better that technical stuff and some are better at managing
