Hello Everyone, just need advice since been with this company around 10 years already. Just got an opportunity to join another company to a role that i tried many times at citrix with no luck. The difference here is the company is considered small, 75 to 100 employees. Been around 6 years already in the technology market. They provide salary way higher than what i have and stock options. of course with the traditional benefit package of medical dental and vision. Is kind hard to let go since been here for so long and i feel the times I had survived the layoffs was just matter of luck which i think is running out slowly.

Very easy, two options to choose from;
-
Run !! Get out respectfully soon on your own terms

Continue working hard day and night for Citrix with trust. When time comes suddenly Citrix will be thanking you by packing your stuff and escorting you out of building like criminal for no reason.
Run! If rumor about a huge 2018 layoffs is correct-jump now. It sounds like a great opp. Win-win. Besides 10 years is a long time in a role with no vertical progress. Change is good.
Move on. It is not worth it.
CTXS is not what it used to be anymore
But it is not what it could be either
CEOs and Execs selling stock is normal. And considering it was only 12,000 out of 304,000 that's not exactly anything to call home about. Now if he sold 300,000 then sure, that's odd. But obviously you don't own stock or you would know that is always common knowledge, and just a small chunk of stock that is a common amount to be sold.
Even Citrix executives started jumping the sinking ship:
Citrix Systems's CEO & PRESIDENT just disposed of 12,500 shares http://www.conferencecalltranscripts.org/4/summary/?id=4305596
Without question you need to go forward for yourself and your family and take the great opportunity presented to you. There is nothing left of value at CTXS, no innovation, no excitement, no career growth, no interest in doing good as a corporation. Its a slow dissolution into mediocrity residue since EM took the yoke of this once great company.
Good luck to you and God blessed your good fortune
Dude, just jump ship. My only advise is to keep your eyes open and be flexible. Also, look for other jobs (even interview around.) Always have a plan A, a plan B and a plan C, and always contemplate a worst case where you are w/o a job for 4-6 months (praemeditatio malorum). Don't do that to get depressed, but to exercise in you mind how you would/could/should deal with such a bad outcome (which is gonna happen to anyone working in software for long enough.) Be thankful to have worked at Citrix obviously, but also be fearless and jump ship.
Do you really have to ask????? If you've been here as long as you say you have you've seen the stern of this ship sinking - first slowly, now picking up speed. Take the opportunity. Ever since EM got their teeth in us they've had us in a death grip. The days of innovation and vision here are long gone; these are no longer values executive leadership cares about.
GTFO and move forward with your life. I'm still looking for that next best step for me than will jump off as well.
Run away fast, DON'T TRUST CITRIX. True, it's slam dunk decision.
This should be a slam dunk decision. Don't let a misplaced sense of loyalty ruin your future. Go for the new deal. Citrix will lay you off in a second to make their numbers.
Grab the opportunity and run away from the Sinking Ship .
