Thread regarding BD (Becton Dickinson & Co.) layoffs

BD pretty much lost its soul to greed and shareholders.

Where I work it's pretty much gone down hill the last 10 years ,and some workers finally had enough and tried to push for a Union after some departments have been on mandatory overtime for at least 5 years

And since it's a at will work state the workers basically don't stand a chance against management and sometimes it seems like they get a kick out of firing people or write them up.

So the union push definitely got them out of the chairs they suddenly played nice and changed a few policies one of them was you have to find your own coverage if you want vacation so now you don't have to and we were overrun with upper management from Franklin Lakes for a good month but now where the whole Union thing seems to have cooled down they're backtracking on the policies and we back to mandatory overtime Joy but maybe it will backfire in their face one can only hope so another thing we lost well over 250 people the last two years due to stupid policies but I guess it's the American Greed biting us in the a-- another thing is we are down to a very inexperienced work crew That's only a few experience people left basically no training and we have a hard time keeping people because this was not what they were told when they got hired welcome to BD

The last bit is spot on. Even in the UK, factories floors are run by flex workers and temps, some who can barely speak a word of English. They are dumbing down skilled and experienced roles forcing people to look elsewhere for the role they thought they had at Bd, only to be replaced by another inexperienced temp.
