Warren MI Kmart closing

At kmart stores it's always a lack of vendor shipments followed by a lack of outdoor furniture this time of year. Maybe half the outdoor furniture that u would really recieve in my experience with 2 closings that occured thus time of year. Next is shipments of valentine's merchandise usually sparse from the prior year. Another is receiving large shipments of stuff that is excess inventory that is crap and doesn't sell and lack of stuff that does. I also noticed product wasnt being marked down faster to clearance. Another sign is that ur store manager seems off in the last 2 weeks. They know the fate of the store and are just keeping their mouths shut. In the 2 stores stores that I've been through we also received a couple of anynoumous visits from our dm in the month prior. More than usual. Just my 2 cents in my experience.
Any idea on the locations ?
Was your propane taken "taken"? Some genius on the Kmart board thinks their store is closing because it was 'stolen'
If you havent had a vendor since early dec. you are probablly closing. Vendors in our store were stocking shelves twice a week for the holidays. When vendors stop coming in it is because they have been directed by corporate to cut the inventory in preperation of liqidation. Vendor merchandise is not part of a closing stores inventory.
No trucks in my store since Dec. 10. Virginia. Had a few UPS shipments of Valentines candy but nothing else. Vendor product: No Frito Lay since first week Dec. Coke and Pepsi were here this week.
We're all thinking that corporate has directed DCs to schedule trucks when the truck is full. We used to get half full trucks a lot.
Makes sense, January would be the time to close store. Stores should be at their lowest inventory levels right about now and they’ve been struggling to get merchandise on the shelves. Sounds about right to me. I’m just surprised it’s only 41 stores.
I'm not sure just heard from my dm
Please elaborate! From whence does thine information come? Kmart or Sears?
