Thread regarding Danaher Corp. layoffs

Let my experience and loyalty matter!

At danaher it is really crushing to see someone less experienced promoted over other smarter and more experienced employees. You would think that having an employee who has shown dedication to this company as well as gained a vast knowledge of its intricacies over the years would be the perfect candidate for a promotion.

Instead I found that experience plays no part in the selection. This company seems to favor those with college degrees and very little hands on experience in their departments who are most times selected only because it will ‘look good’ for the company.

When did experience and loyalty stop counting? All these years seeing my fellow employees get overlooked is so saddening, because these employees have a better understanding of company processes and would have benefited the company far better than the ones with college degrees.

If you are as loyal as you claim, you’d go to college and get a degree like I did at 50. Then you’d learn just how useless all your “experience” is. Is this right, or just, or moral? Hell no... but it is the modem game you have to play if you want to stay in a 21st century workforce.
