Well there goes the cash cow for Sears. Really motivates associates to sell PAs and customers to buy them, now doesn’t it?
There's been some complaints that protection agreements and smart plans at Kmart were not honored or claims denied because merchandise came from a closing store or was out of box/returned previously.
After SHC retail falls apart, the chances are slim protection agreement buyers will get much value out of their contracts. Of course they wouldn't get much value even if SHC retail stays in operation. Buying into these ridiculously overpriced scam agreements is like giving a charitable contribution to Eddie Lampert.
