Thread regarding Vista Outdoor Inc. layoffs

Incoming layoff at Vista Outdoor

Rumor has it Federal has contacted the state in regards to another layoff.

50-100 workers.

This was posted in an older thread by @Qz9BKV4-mcjm, but the info is new. Has anybody heard anything more about this? I'm out of the office until next week, but it'd be good to know if there is something like this brewing.

They should have kept the same adjuster test from ten years ago then none of you would have had jobs in the first place, with your subpar trash mechanical skills or lack of. We all blame HR for that debacle.

I’m still feeling a layoff. I don’t trust’em.

What makes us unqualified?

F**k federal, cutting 400 jobs sense last March, and then telling the laid off people they aren't qualified anymore, based off rehire criteria. Sh-- hole

Starting from the bottom pay and probably a bottom job. That’s cold after you’ve worked your way up once already.

Word is callbacks after fical year ends. Rehires will be few, and alot of the laid off are not welcomed back. They will start back at the bottom of the paysvale. Say hi to 15hr

Forming a union will not stop a company from laying off workers.

Call backs would be great, but we do need to unionize or it’ll be more of the same old $hit.

Uppers just told people call backs are coming, but I hope it's real this time, people deserve there jobs back after that f--- up of a CEO botched it all.

Call back? Hahaha...you don’t have a chance until there is the threat of a lib tard for prez.

Time to union up....I’ve already seen some pamphlets circulating at work. Management is clueless we need to keep it under wraps

I’m open to a union. Level the playing field between shifts. Hold management accountable

It's time for a union there. And vista should be forced to sell federal, most of the employees deserve better.

I hope they rehire instead of laying off more people, But management does have a credibility issue. every 3 months they seem surprised and say they were floored and had no idea. They have a top dog too and who knows what they are feeding management.

The top dogs have ZERO credibility. Their favorite phrase over the past year is “I don’t see any layoffs in the near future”. I don’t believe anything that comes out of their mouth.

Callbacks starting next month. lucky number is around 40 to start. Straight from a top dogs mouth. They have a rehire list ready to go.

I asked last month about callbacks I was told not until April and that the worst was over.

I’m thinking more or less a straight up layoff of employees. I don’t think they’re going to pay us for not working. One more layoff and callbacks in late April.

Rumor update...people being hired back for eight dollars less per hour replacing people at full rate.

Union talk is getting fierce but necessary.

The state wasn’t informed the previous three layoffs prior to them happening. Fact. Why would they tell them now. State regs. say that over 50 they must be nitified but since there isn’t any penalty to that reg. it is rarely followed.

Expect next Wed. Or Thur.

Track record of notification the week after quarter close but since many on vacations with holiday and separation from further bad press it’s probably next week.

Is there a way to contact the state to verify a layoff?

I agree with the weekend shift disappearing. Machines are down all over the plant sitting idle. Not a lot of efficiency going on.

January should be a fun month. Walking in every Friday wondering if I’m gonna be met with a black folder.
