Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

Info on being laid off

I was laid off by SSBT several years ago. It was a blessing. Life after SS has been much better and I'm not sad about it at all. But be careful. When laid off, you will be required to sign a raft of paperwork including a document that says you will not sue for age discrimination. If you do not sign all this paperwork, you will not receive your severance. They got ya coming and going unfortunately. After you sign everything, you have to go thru the humiliation of being escorted out. Standard procedures.

They do the layoffs in a very stealth manner of laying off maybe 1 to 2 people in various sections.

Hoping nobody will notice how 1,2 or 3 people have vanished.

Usually the worker's network is busy calling friends in other depts to see if anyone got laid off.

Some area's may only lose 1 person maybe 2, others may lose 2 to 3 people but like I said, its done is small layoffs to avoid detection

@QQmltJn-khi But what happened yesterday? There was a post that said 12/20 like it was a layoff day. Once again trolls or liars littering the site. Did anyone. Has anyone seen anything in large numbers? 7000 is hard to hide

Yes, I do believe that we will see layoffs sometime soon. SSB could have had layoffs on 12/20 in some departments. Just because you didn't experience any layoffs in the department you work in it is possible that layoffs did occur. I have worked at State Street long enough and do recall peers/fellow workers being laid off in the month of December. Many of them are much happier.

To @QQmltJn It is nice that you are much better off after being laid off. I know of many former peers who are struggling and trying to relocate since it is difficult for them to survive currently with the lack of opportunities since being laid off.
