Thread regarding Zenith Education Group layoffs

WyoTech might close right after the holidays

Closure may come sooner than June 2018. A lot of students have indicated they will not be returning after Christmas break. UTI and a few other automotive schools have said they a willing to take any WyoTech student that wants to transfer to their schools.

This. It's up in the air how many students will actually be back after the Christmas break. From the looks of it, very few. Which will most likely trigger the closing much sooner than expected.

Even after the sudden announcement of the closings their are still people in denial. Their are still believers of what ever management tells them. With the history of Zenith Education Group how can anyone believe a single word or promise from management. Even the campus leadership have no idea what corporate is going to do. "The upcoming phases at set to run with as little as 8 students" and you believe that is a commitment set in stone. Also, if the loss of over a half BILLION dollars has nothing to do with closing the schools, why are they closing them? Zenith will continue to supply the teach out schools with just enough materials to keep them going until they close, but watch what happens as student population declines. Yep, I believe everything that Zenith tells me, NOT.

Money IS the deciding factor?? 12 million in alterius rebranding chump change I guess? But now a tourniquet must be implemented immediately to stop the bleeding? Folks this is / was the deal from GO slowly bleed it out til the pulse is gone. We are in the final phase of that. ECMC was earmarked by the federal government to complete this task and I'm certain there are financial benefits for them unbeknownst to us and others. Christmas bonuses for all remaining employees but money issues warrants immediate shutdown?? Ok. But hey I ve seen stranger things maybe they will bring back PARTHENON a la CCI. Who the h##l knows anymore

Money is not why the schools are closing? Where did you come up with that? The press release stated that ECMC has lost over a HALF BILLION dollars since taking on the schools. If losing millions of dollars wasn't an issue why has the Board of Directors demanded that 21 campuses be closed? When it becomes less costly to refund the tuition than keep paying salaries, benefits and overhead the doors will be locked. Enrollment contracts can be terminated by either party within reason.

Corporate can arrange a teach out with UTI and Lincoln Tech to have students finish programs there or give them loan forgiveness if population is very low. I do not think that is the case but the "contract" can be discharged just like a student can drop out and quit at anytime and not be responsible for the full amount of the contract.

The sky is falling the sky is falling. To any unaware. When a student signs up for a course that course must be taught regardless of speculation rumors voodoo dolls and evil spells. A contract between student and education facility is just that a contract, and cannot be broken without cause, most courses are set to run in this upcoming phase with 8 or less enrolled. Money is not why the school is closing, if that were the case cuts would be made more aggressive than just RIF's it would entail denial of material requests, consumables, no coffee for the break room whatever etc. The focus is on giving those an education that still seek one...first and foremost. Enough of the BS and fear mongering

With a graduation set for this week and a week off for the holidays it's expected that each campus's student population will be reduced by 50%. It's still uncertain of how many of the remaining students will decide not to return after break, but the anticipation is high. That's why management is waiting until January to make decisions on who and how many employees will be terminated. The student population after Christmas break will determine the number of staff members that will be terminated with the Reduction in Force. There will be RIF's that take place every six weeks from here on until the final closing takes place which is planned for June 2018 at the latest. Last person out, please turn off the lights.
