Thread regarding Micron Technology Inc. layoffs

Don't Wait

To all of my fellow Micron employees. the company is in the process of changing the way we do things around here. Right now things seem to be steady as first wave of layoffs have happened, but remember layoffs are ongoing. Please don't wait to lose your job. Instead start to look for something elsewhere. The economy is good now. There are well paying jobs in Boise waiting to be filled. Why wait for the company to take your job at their time frame on their terms. Take care of yourself. Don't wait for a sevrence package while other employees are leaving to fill other good paying jobs with benefits at other companies in town. The money you might receive won't be near what you may think, no matter how long you have been here. You don't know what they will offer you until that day comes. If you are in an area that is and has been slow . You are going to lose your job! What are you waiting for?

Mu stock being up means the stockholders are making money; the company is making money. That doesn't mean my job is safe or that they are sharing it with everybody. We haven't had enough work to keep our area busy for two years! Literally.Coming to work to listen to people b--ch and to be on the internet all day is a waste of my life. Football all day; two hour lunches; p--n watched on the floor. Managers and supervisors making 60-70 thousand a year to do NOTHING all day.I want to keep busy and actually work for my money, not rip off the company getting paid to do zero all day. That is why I am looking. The company doing well now isn't helping me.There will be another down turn. There always is.

Question: MU stock has been around an all-time high for several months. What are the bad things/changes that are making you want to leave?

You will do great! Good luck! Let us know how it worked out. I waited around for the job I wanted, interviewed a few times with them, got an offer and took the job. Best move I have ever made. After finding this website it appears that there are a lot of others who could not be happier like myself after leaving micron. I cannot believe how I was brain washed into thinking I would be worthless without that place. My only issue is all the good friends I left. Miss them for sure!

I recently submitted resumes to three different companies in Boise and I have three interviews scheduled. The first one is this Wednesday. Wish me luck.
