be sure and read the entire news release. $250 million in additional cost synergies - this means MORE LAYOFFS - as it is in addition to the $100 million in savings already underway by CBI.

Only TWO companies have owned Sunland - Shaw and CBI, but the rest of your comment is correct.

100% agree with the last post....
Has been amazing to watch something that was so strong get completely dismantled because people would not listen to the men and woman that have worked in the business for 20+ years.
They showed us all how smart they are...
five companies have owned sunland since 1986. Bernard and burk ,Mathew hall, amec, shaw, and then the wonderfull CBI. they all knew how to run it and make money except the idiots that ran cbi. the secret to their success was they were smart enough to let the people that knew about pipe fabrication run it.
Thanks guys and ladies for all the information.
The cut is going through the executives next. Inexperienced hr VP, gone
Welder hr VP, gone
Finance leadership, gone
Safety leadership, gone
I would not want to be a VP right now.
Mcd has very established management. Blood letting to go through the 4th floor. Let’s see if they drag out the dead weight in construction leadership who take credit for others work. Posting on FB about CBI sending you to the World Series, the Super Bowl, and the Masters while getting you your million miles status with United is just unprofessional during layoffs and a supposed plan to bankrupt Cameron and LACC.
Over 50 at the Walker facility?
additional cost synergies Can be a number of things. Everyone in 1 building. Merging of HR and Finance and so forth. Yes. They will layoff people of course. But only the ones who are not productive.
Yes managers included, but You will be surprised come Wednesday because it’ll be well over 50.
I do not know if the Walker facility is closing but they are having another layoff this Wednesday. I hear it is approximately 50 people - Managers included!
Question is the Walker facility closing ?
But you can bet they will keep as many family members as they can! There is so much nepotism in CB&I, it is unbelievable. Especially in the Quality Department - facility wide!!! If you are not related to someone, chances are you will be the one laid off!! I cannot believe there is not a CMS against that.
You got it OP.
The correct way to read any kind of financial news release by a corp., is to ignore the first few pages and get to the back where the fine print is.
More layoffs and more facilities closed. Picked apart and sold.
