It may be nothing more than the rumor mill at this point, but there is a rumor of Honeywell as buyer of the whole company (not just Lummus/Tech) and speculation that it's in the $24 price range (seems a bit high to me, but it would be a couple bucks above the stock price at the last big senior management stock-option awards on 6/30/17). Certainly the Mr. Market today doesn't think this rumor is true, so it may only be idle speculation

If it’s a market announcement that may negatively impact stock prices it won’t come until after market close eastern time zone. Slim chance that announcement will be made at or just after 10 am central time. Big indicator is - is there a mandatory meeting being held in corporate office today (anyone there? Comments?). Biggest of rumor is double sale- one buyer for tech one buyer for what is left of CBI- woe be to whoever is buying toxic projects, Colombian lawsuit, Georgia Power lawsuit and huge class action lawsuit over overtime. No government bailout here boys and girls just more and more corruption at the top....except that ho in marketing sure coming out good.
The technology division is the only thing that CB&I has that is worth anything other than SPS (Steel Plate Structures).
Wonder what happens to the liabilities, like Ecopetrol (Columbia)? They can cost CB&I a lot of money if they know where to look.
AND, it's wrong ... was released publicly while the market was closed ... after the market closed on August 9th.

Some of you are real douchebags! Someone asks a simple question and some of you stand up and wave your ‘look at what a jerk I can be’ banners.
The announcement will be after closing today, and the stocks will rise. It’s common for them to dip slightly before a big announcement.
The poster is saying that in the past, dingleberry - when the sale of Technology WAS announced at 10am (on that day)....think, man.
10am in what time zone ... it's not 10am Eastern, much less Central. And how is the plan to sell technology news ... (unless specifics were released). This was announced many months ago ... we are just awaiting the RESULTS of the sale.

Announcement will 100% be after the market close today ... Investor Relations confirmed that this morning. Most publicly traded stocks will not make a 'market moving' announcement (this clearly IS that) during the trading day ... unless there are rampant leaks and want to go public to even the playing field. And the stock price seems to indicate there aren't any significant leaks that are being traded on. I do know that it's not primarily about the stock price, as there are people's livelihoods on the line ... but publicly traded companies are not people and don't have a beating heart (or soul).
Usually announcements come after 10am, when the managements meeting is done. If we don’t hear anything after that, then the announcements will come to our desk phones directly from HR.
