There is nothing new in Symantec deciding to let go of it’s best and brightest in favor of being “cost efficient”. Teams have been decimated for years now, causing added workloads for those that remained. Despite all of that, everybody who stayed is expected to fulfil unrealistic expectations.
The only thing that is different now is that the layoffs we’re having are closer together so more people are noticing something is going on.
Symantec hasn’t been a company with job security for far too long now. I’m at a point where I’m considering other options, despite the fact I actually enjoy working here.
The constant “will I have a job tomorrow” aspect overshadows everything else.
