Furniture was NOT all laid off.
Yes furniture team all laid off, print team 95 percent laid off and most of the top 50 sales people. Promotional team slashed. Retail is due in January upwards of 400 jobs are going to be cut. Also Corp hq is for sale.
I bet Mr or Ms “Mediocrity” has Pom poms and an “Easy Button” in their office. Looking over CPE’s and wondering were they went wrong for the last business failure they had. My advise is stay in your office with the lights off and hide. Shira and her Sycamore fuc&s are coming for ya.
Furniture was laid off last week. There are more layoffs scheduled for the near future, though, as the layoff was not complete.

When they laid off most of the print & marketing account managers last month, they laid off at random, which led to the layoff of the very top performer.
The person they laid off was ranked #1 out of all 238 account managers in that division....
This future layoff is rumored to also be random. Senior management just wants people gone. They don't necessarily care of their contribution, or their worth, just as long as they're removed from payroll.
It's pro time, time to cut the mediocre folks and hire true professionals like FM.
Since when did the ever eliminate mediocrity? Never. Superior performers tend to leave because they can see the writing on the wall and know they can move on to bigger and better. Mediocrity is afraid to hire smarter people than they are. Mediocrity won't promote intelligent people because it threatens the status quo. Mediocrity is what got Staples where they are now. No, mediocrity won't be departing any time soon. Sorry to burst your bubble.

so heard the layoff is thru out the company. CE, Fram, CA, NJ - - everyone going to feel the earth quake. my advice, stay focused. the sad thing about this is the dumb a-- leaders most likely will be untouched. Sycamore is too new to know. all those dumb a-- leaders who shine over what others do - God I pray they know to weed them out. They are the ones who cost the company ton of money, get them out!
I sure hope you're not currently employed by Staples. The ability to type at a minimum of a 5th grade level should be a condition of employment.
