Vacation time

Hearing vacation time chatter. Anyone hear that you will lose any accrual during the course of the year after 120 hr Mark?

I disagree with that statement and here's why:

  • Please take notice to what's happening at SFR right now. Altice is eliminating 5000 jobs. The workers are represented by a union, so Altice was obligated to negotiate a buy out. They agreed to pay each employee 10 weeks pay for every year of service.

I disagree with that statement and here's why:

  • Some people say that Altice has done a very poor job in communicating with its employees, however that would not apply in this particular situation.

  • On November 20, 2017, Altice sent out a global email entitled Altice USA 2018 Paid Time Off Program in which they highlighted what's "going on" with our vacation etc.

  • In the footnote of that email, they also provided a link to the marquee where you'll find the actual 2018 PTO policy.

I'll speak for myself and say that I never come on this site to throw any conspiracy theories. I never intend to spread misery here.... just knowledge and wisdom.

Chew on this: The mere fact that we have to resort to anonymous website to vent our job related issues is the very reason why we all needed to go union years ago.

Look I don't trust anything anyone says anymore but this is a fact. And to your last point im shocked everyone saying anything about vacation time. The email went out a year ago about switching to pto but no ones ever said what going on with it. Everyone needs to stop coming on here and throwing their conspiracy theories out because other people read it and assume it must be true and just end up miserable. You guys used to actually come on here and give out some good facts that you heard from someone now it's just turned into a bunch of complaining grown men

  • given everything that has transpired since June 2016, we still have ignorant fools that continue to trust everything management says.

  • Altice can easily rid themselves of ATS whenever they see fit. If you need confirmation of this, just read any of the dozens of franchise agreements across the footprint and look for any mention of "Altice Technical Services".

  • Oakland & Brooklyn AUSA techs are protected by union and also protected by their respective PSC agreements.

  • most people are still unaware of the fact that Spectrum and Altice are represented by the same scumbag law firm (KM&M). Feel free to draw your own conclusion from that.

  • it's unbelievable that people are concerning themselves with "vacation time" when Altice is plotting and scheming to get rid of all of us.

They don't need skilled labor. Anyone can do any job in Altice. Remember your CEO said "I don't need the guys who are top top top, just guys who are good enough," Good enough does not mean skilled. I see it now with guys not knowing how to do certain calls now where two years ago we would send skilled workers to do those jobs.

Still curious on how much PTO we get. I'm currently at 4 weeks vacation plus sick/personal. That's 216 hours a year.

It's called PTO or ETO and most companies now use this form of time off and yes you have to use some of the hours for holidays to get paid that day or sick or personal it's just one bank of hours.

If your max is 120 hours you have to use some in order to get accrual. Take your time and you won't have an issue. There was an email explaining all of this. I guess someone doesn't care to read.
