Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Why are people here so resistant to change?

Seriously, why is change such a bad word here? Why is it still acceptable in this day and age to continue doing things that can be improved so easily the same old way just because those near the top who've been with Teradata for several decades refuse to change their outdated way of thinking?

Every little thing that needs to change does so at snail's pace. I'ts utterly frustrating and annoying, especially since our competition mostly has leadership that has at least entered this century.

It'd be really nice to see this change. I actually enjoy working here and I'd like to still have a job instead of being laid off because we were left in the dust by our competition.

People are resistant to foolish change. Yes, all the profit came from Dayton. The 1/3 of ITworkers let go for outsourcing to India.

Because the top level management doesn't care about innovation, they want profit no matter how and from where it comes. Don't you know the profile of Vic(ious) Lund, he came from retailing not a technology expert.

Depends on what one wa ts to change. Too often proponents of change want to replace what works with something that doesn't. What works at the world's largest online flea market doesn't necessarily work at the world's largest retailer, bank, manufacturer etc
